It took me years to make trading work - then I removed myself from the charts.
I didn't start out as a trader. I made my career as an entrepreneur in data analytics and developing enterprise software for large corporations. After selling my business, I dipped a toe into the deep trading waters. In the beginning, I was just as lost as everyone else. Revenge trades after a loss. Doubling down to "make it back". Hesitating on the entry, then bailing on winners way too early while I often let the losers run into oblivion. I blew plenty of prop accounts (luckily never a real money one) along the way. If you've been there, you probably know exactly what I mean.
Plain Street strategies started as a simple way to backtest my theses. Unfortunately, even after I found a strategy that worked, my emotions kept getting in the way. Only after three years I finally turned a profit on the year. Then it hit me: Since executing the strategy rules was all I was doing, why not run the backtests forward and take myself out of the equation entirely? I left the screens months ago and never looked back. Plain Street is a real edge executed exactly as planned, by an algorithm that follows the rules, doesn't panic, and doesn't hesitate.
